Fire / Smoke / Explosion
Immediate safety precautions
☐ Activate alarm if present and call 911 from safe location.
☐ Evacuate using nearest safe exit; close doors behind you.
☐ Assist children, elderly, disabled, or visitors without delaying evacuation.
☐ Meet at accountability point and report missing persons.
☐ Use extinguisher only for small contained fires and only with exit behind you.
Avoid these common mistakes
☐ Do not re-enter for property.
☐ Do not use elevators.
☐ Do not prop fire doors open during alarm response.
School / child-release decision checkpoints
☐ Account for all students, staff, visitors, and groups before release or relocation.
☐ Confirm official all-clear or emergency-management direction; do not rely on sirens alone.
☐ Inspect route, shelter, assembly, and pickup areas for fire, flood, utility, debris, traffic, or security hazards.
☐ Use controlled reunification for parent pickup: ID verification, release log, traffic control, and one official communication channel.
