Original manual table figureAlert meaning: Use after any emergency involving injury, missing persons, evacuation, or family pickup.

Immediate safety precautions

☐ Call 911 for life-threatening injury or worsening condition.

☐ Start first aid/AED/CPR only if trained or directed.

☐ Account for people by room, class, group, or event roster.

☐ Use a single reunification point and controlled release process.

☐ Document injuries, missing persons, property hazards, and notifications.

Avoid these common mistakes

☐ Do not move seriously injured persons unless danger remains.

☐ Do not release children without approved process.

☐ Do not spread unverified information.

School / child-release decision checkpoints

☐ Account for all students, staff, visitors, and groups before release or relocation.

☐ Confirm official all-clear or emergency-management direction; do not rely on sirens alone.

☐ Inspect route, shelter, assembly, and pickup areas for fire, flood, utility, debris, traffic, or security hazards.

☐ Use controlled reunification for parent pickup: ID verification, release log, traffic control, and one official communication channel.
